Assessments at GST are designed to mirror real-world professional scenarios, ensuring students graduate with practical, job-ready experience that is directly relevant to the computing industry.
With only one formal examination the Level 4 Introduction to Computer Systems and Security module the majority of assessment is hands-on and practice-based. Students engage in creating databases, coding websites and web applications, writing programmes, producing project documentation, analysing case studies and scenarios, and using spreadsheets for data visualisation and analysis, including working with large datasets.
This approach allows students to progressively build a professional portfolio of work throughout the course a tangible demonstration of their skills and capabilities that can be showcased to future employers.
