Q2. Is GST Global’s guidance really free?
Yes, absolutely. We offer 100% free consultation and career counselling services. Our commitment is to remove barriers to higher education by ensuring accessibility for all. Unlike many competitors (e.g., Prepory charges for personalized coaching; UCAS operates a paid online platform), GST Global provides full admissions support, student finance assistance, and career guidance at no cost.
Q3. What makes GST Global different from other university consultants?
Several factors set us apart:
- End-to-end support: We handle everything from application to enrollment, so you can focus on your studies.
- 100% free service: No hidden fees, no paid upgrades—unlike competitors.
- Multilingual & culturally aware: Our team has backgrounds from esteemed UK and European universities and speaks multiple languages, offering tailored support to diverse student backgrounds.
- Local presence: With offices across the UK, we’re accessible to students nationwide.
- Specialist expertise: We focus on mature students, EU nationals, and students with financial barriers demographics often overlooked by mainstream consultants.
Services & Support
Q4. What services does GST Global offer?
We provide comprehensive support across the entire university journey:
- Course & University Selection: Guidance on choosing programmes and institutions tailored to your interests and goals.
- Application Assistance: Full support with UCAS applications, personal statements, and supporting documentation.
- Student Finance Guidance: Comprehensive assistance with student finance applications (loans, grants, maintenance allowances).

- Career Counselling: Free, personalized career guidance to help you plan your professional future.
- Academic Support: Tutoring and support throughout your degree (foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate).
Q5. Do you help with mature student applications?
Yes, we specialize in supporting mature and returning students. Many of our students are adults re-entering education after time out of the workforce. We understand the unique challenges mature students face balancing work, family, and study and we provide tailored guidance on part-time, online, and evening courses that fit your lifestyle. We also help explain your experience and motivation in your application in ways that resonate with admissions teams.
Q6. How long does the application process typically take?
With GST Global’s support, the process is streamlined. From initial consultation to submitting your application, most students work with us for 4–8 weeks. However, this varies based on your readiness and individual circumstances. We aim for efficiency without cutting corners we ensure every application is thorough and compelling. Compared to DIY applications or competitors who charge for faster processing, our approach balances speed with quality at no cost.
Student Finance & Funding
Q7. Can I get student finance if I’m a mature student or returning to education?
Yes. Student finance is available to eligible students of any age pursuing their first higher education qualification. However, eligibility rules are complex:
- You must be studying at a publicly funded or registered UK university.
- Your course must be a ‘recognised’ course (most undergraduate and some postgraduate courses qualify).
- Residency status matters: UK residents (including British citizens, EU settled status, indefinite leave to remain, and refugees) typically qualify for ‘home fees’ and government-backed loans.
- If you already hold a qualification at the same or lower level, the ELQ (Equivalent or Lower Qualification) rule may restrict your eligibility—though exceptions exist.
GST Global’s team unpacks these rules for you. We assess your individual situation and guide you through the application process. Unlike government websites (which are comprehensive but complex), we translate the rules into plain English and handle the paperwork.
Q8. What types of student finance are available?
For 2026/27 entrants, the main funding streams are:
- Tuition Fee Loan: Covers full university tuition fees (no upfront cost).
- Maintenance Loan: Supports living costs (accommodation, food, transport). Amount depends on household income, residence, and student circumstances.
- Maintenance Grant: Non-repayable support for students with lower household incomes.
- Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA): Extra support if you have a disability, long-term health condition, or specific learning difficulty.
- Scholarships, Bursaries & Grants: University-specific financial awards (competitive or needs-based).
- Adult Dependants’ Grant: For students with dependants.
- Parents’ Learning Allowance: For students with dependent children.
GST Global helps you navigate all options and maximizes your funding. We identify which support you qualify for and ensure applications are submitted on time late applications often result in delayed payments or missed funding.
Q9. What is the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), and how does it affect me?
The Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) is a new policy launching in 2027 that fundamentally changes how student finance works in England. Rather than restricting funding to your first higher education qualification, the LLE allows eligible students to access government funding for up to £37,000 of learning across their lifetime, regardless of how many qualifications they pursue. This is a game-changer for mature students and career-changers. GST Global is closely monitoring LLE roll-out and will provide tailored guidance as eligibility criteria clarify further.
Q10. When should I apply for student finance?
Apply as soon as possible ideally before your course starts. If your course begins in 2026 (August–December), you can apply now. Early applications give Student Finance England time to process your claim and release funds before term begins. Late applications can result in delayed payments, which can cause financial hardship. GST Global ensures your application is submitted with all required documentation, on time.
Eligibility & Support for Different Student Groups
Q11. I’m an EU national. Can I access UK student finance?
EU funding eligibility changed post-Brexit. Generally, EU nationals who don’t have settled status are not eligible for home fees or UK government-backed student finance. However, some exceptions exist:
- EU settled status holders: Eligible for home fees and student finance.
- Family members of EU settled status holders: May qualify under certain conditions.
- Some universities offer bursaries or scholarships to international students, including EU nationals.
GST Global specializes in supporting EU nationals. We explore all funding pathways—government finance, university bursaries, private loans—and help you understand the immigration implications. We’re fluent in multiple languages and culturally aware of the challenges EU students face. Unlike generic consultants, we treat EU national support as a specialism, not an afterthought.
Q12. I’m an international student. Do you help with visa and immigration?
No, we only work for national students.
Q13. I’m a refugee or have humanitarian protection status. Am I eligible for student finance?
Yes. If you have refugee status or humanitarian protection, you’re typically eligible for home fees and government-backed student finance, the same as UK residents. GST Global is experienced in supporting refugees and vulnerable students. We understand the additional complexities you may face (language barriers, previous qualifications not recognized, lack of family support) and provide extra guidance and encouragement.
Q14. What study formats do you support (full-time, part-time, online)?
We support all study modes:
- Full-time on-campus: Traditional university experience (3–4 years).
- Part-time: Spread over 4–6 years, often combining work and study (popular with mature students).
- Online/Distance learning: Entirely online or blended, ideal for working professionals and those with caring responsibilities.
- Evening & weekend: In-person classes outside typical daytime hours.
- Foundation year: One-year preparatory programme before undergraduate study (for students without standard entry qualifications).
All formats qualify for student finance. We help match your learning style, work commitments, and lifestyle to the right programme structure.
Courses & Programmes
Q15. What undergraduate degree programmes do you support?
We guide students into over 50 bachelor’s degree programmes across top UK universities, including:
- Health and Social Care (nursing, allied health, social work)
- Business Management (accounting, finance, management)
- IT and Computing (software development, data science, cybersecurity)
- Education and Childhood (teaching, early years, education studies)
- Law and Legal Studies
- Engineering and STEM
- Psychology and Social Sciences
- Humanities and Creative Arts
We also support postgraduate programmes (master’s degrees, PGCE, specialist certifications). If your desired programme isn’t listed, contact us, we likely have partnerships or pathways to help you.
Q16. Do all your programmes qualify for government student finance?
Most do. We exclusively partner with publicly funded and registered UK universities, and our programmes are approved for public funding. However, a small minority of postgraduate programmes (e.g., some specialized master’s courses) may not qualify. We check eligibility upfront and advise you of any funding restrictions before you apply.
Q17. What is a foundation year, and who needs one?
A foundation year is a one-year preparatory programme designed to bridge the gap between your current qualifications and standard undergraduate entry requirements. It’s ideal if:
- You don’t have A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
- Your previous qualifications are from overseas and not recognized in the UK.
- You’ve been out of education for many years (mature learners) and need to refresh your academic skills.
- You wish to change career direction and lack prerequisite knowledge (e.g., STEM concepts for a computing degree).
Foundation years are fully government-funded for eligible students and count toward your student finance loan entitlement. They significantly improve your academic confidence and university readiness.
The Application Process
Q18. What does the application process look like?
It’s straightforward:
- Initial Consultation: Meet with your dedicated GST Global consultant to discuss your goals, experience, and ideal programmes.
- Course Selection: Together, we narrow down universities and programmes that fit your profile, aspirations, and financial situation.
- Application Support: We guide you through the UCAS or direct university application, helping you craft a compelling personal statement and gather supporting documents.
- Interview Preparation (if required): Mock interviews, question practice, and confidence-building.
- Offer & Enrollment: Once you receive offers, we help you decide which to accept and manage the enrollment process.
- Student Finance Application: We guide you through student finance and submit your application promptly.
- Ongoing Support: We’re available throughout your degree journey for advice on academic matters, career planning, and personal challenges.
Unlike competitors (e.g., Prepory, which offers one-off consulting calls, or DIY platforms like UCAS), GST Global offers end-to-end continuity one dedicated consultant guiding you through each milestone.
Q19. Will I be prepared for my university interview?
Absolutely. Interview preparation is included in our support. We:
- Conduct mock interviews tailored to your course (e.g., healthcare interviews often focus on patient care scenarios; law interviews may examine legal reasoning).
- Teach you to structure strong answers and demonstrate subject knowledge.
- Help you articulate your motivation and unique value proposition.
- Build your confidence so you come across as authentic and engaged.
Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but proper preparation transforms anxiety into confidence. Our students consistently report improved interview performance.
Costs & Value
Q20. How much does GST Global’s service cost?
It’s FREE. We charge nothing for admissions support, student finance guidance, interview preparation, or career counselling. Our mission is to democratize access to higher education—cost should never be a barrier. This is a significant differentiator from competitors like Platinum Education Services and Prepory, which charge upwards of £500–£3000+ for comparable services.
Q21. How do you afford to provide free services?
GST Global operates through partnerships with universities. We’re rewarded for successful student placements, not by charging students. This model aligns our incentives with yours, we only succeed when you succeed in securing admission and financing your studies. There are no hidden fees or pressure to upsell additional services.
Financial Planning & Support
Q22. How much will university cost, and how can I afford it?
Costs vary by institution and programme:
- Tuition fees: Typically £9,250/year for UK undergraduate students (some postgraduate courses cost more).
- Living expenses: £10,000–£15,000/year depending on location and lifestyle (London is pricier than Manchester).
- Books, equipment, materials: £500–£2,000/year depending on your course.
Financing options:
- Government-backed student loans (tuition fee and maintenance loans): Available to eligible students, repaid through income-based repayment after graduation.
- Maintenance grants: For students with lower household incomes—non-repayable.
- University bursaries and scholarships: Competitive or needs-based awards (often £1,000–£10,000+/year).
- Part-time work: Students often work 10–20 hours/week during term and full-time during holidays.
- Personal savings or family support.
GST Global’s role is to maximize your funding by identifying all available support, submitting applications on time, and helping you plan your finances realistically. We don’t want financial anxiety to derail your studies.
Q23. How much will I owe after graduation, and how do I repay my loan?
This depends on how much you borrow. A typical student borrowing the full tuition fee loan (£9,250/year × 3 years = £27,750) plus maintenance loan (£9,000/year × 3 = £27,000) would graduate owing roughly £54,750.
Repayment works as follows (for English-resident students):
- You only start repaying once your income exceeds a threshold (£27,627/year in 2026).
- You repay 9% of earnings above that threshold (e.g., if you earn £35,000, you repay 9% of £7,373 = ~£663/year or ~£55/month).
- If your income drops below the threshold, repayments pause.
- Any remaining balance is written off 30 years after graduation.
Key point: Only ~27% of students fully repay their loans. The system is designed as a graduate contribution, not traditional debt. GST Global explains these mechanics so you understand your true financial obligation.
Career Planning & Beyond
Q24. Does GST Global help with career planning after graduation?
Yes. Career support is part of our service at no extra cost. We provide:
- Career exploration: Understanding sectors, roles, and growth opportunities related to your degree.
- CV and LinkedIn help: Crafting compelling resumes and professional online profiles.
- Interview coaching: Practice for graduate job interviews.
- Internship guidance: Finding and securing placements or internships during your studies.
- Postgraduate pathway advice: Should you pursue further study, and if so, what options exist?
We view our role as extending beyond the first day of lectures. Many of our graduates report we’ve been instrumental in launching successful careers.
Q25. What are the employment prospects for graduates in different fields?
This varies by field, qualification level, and geographic location:
- High demand: IT/Computing (software engineers, data scientists), healthcare (nurses, allied health professionals), skilled trades, and specialized engineering roles face severe talent shortages across the UK. Graduates often secure roles before graduation.
- Steady demand: Education (especially PGCE graduates), accounting and finance, business management, and social care roles are consistently sought after.
- Competitive: Humanities, creative arts, and social sciences have lower graduate unemployment than technical fields, but employment often requires additional qualifications, networking, or geographic flexibility.
- Geographic variation: London and major cities (Manchester, Birmingham) offer more opportunities; rural areas have fewer graduate-level roles.
Our career counselling is based on real labour market data and your strengths. We help you identify programmes that align with both your interests and employment realities.

Frequently Asked Final Questions
Q29. What if I’m unsure about what to study?
That’s completely normal. Our initial consultation includes a careers exploration session where we discuss your interests, strengths, work experience, and aspirations. We use this to identify subject areas and career paths that might suit you. We don’t push you toward a predetermined path instead, we help you discover what excites you and where it might lead. Many students start uncertain; our role is to build clarity.
Q30. What if my qualifications aren’t recognised in the UK?
We regularly support students with overseas qualifications. We help:
- Get your qualifications assessed and recognised (via NARIC, British Council, or university-specific evaluations).
- Identify appropriate entry routes (e.g., foundation year, direct entry, or study-abroad equivalence).
- Explain your qualifications compellingly in your application.
Don’t let qualification uncertainty stop you, we’ve helped hundreds navigate this successfully.
Q31. When should I start the application process?
Start as early as possible. If you’re aiming for September 2026 entry, begin now (March 2026). UCAS applications for 2026 entry are still open, and early applications are advantageous. For September 2027 entry, applications typically open in September 2026. Contact us for personalized timelines, we’ll map out milestones and deadlines to keep you on track.
Q32. Will GST Global’s support hurt my chances of getting in?
Absolutely not. Our support enhances your application. We don’t write your personal statement or apply on your behalf that’s your authentic work. Instead, we guide you to articulate your genuine strengths, goals, and motivation clearly and compellingly. Universities value applications that demonstrate thoughtfulness and self-awareness, which is exactly what our coaching fosters. We’ve consistently seen our students receive offers from competitive universities.
Q33. What if I receive multiple offers? How do I choose?
Receiving multiple offers is fantastic! We help you evaluate them by considering:
- Academic reputation and ranking in your chosen field.
- Course structure and modules (do they align with your interests?).
- University culture, campus, and student experience.
- Location and living costs.
- Career services and graduate employment rates.
- Entry requirements (which are you closest to meeting?).
There’s no universally ‘right’ choice it depends on your priorities. We help you weigh these factors without pressure, ensuring you make a decision you’ll feel confident about.
Q34. I’m nervous about starting university. Will I cope?
Many students feel nervous that’s completely normal. Universities are incredibly supportive environments. Most offer:
- Induction weeks to help you settle in.
- Academic support services (tutoring, writing centers, study skills workshops).
- Counselling and mental health support.
- Student societies and social clubs to build community.
- Peer mentors and personal tutors.
Plus, GST Global remains your ally throughout your degree. We’re a phone call or email away if you hit academic or personal challenges. We’ve supported students through exam stress, homesickness, and personal crises and they’ve all thrived. You’ve got this.
